New head of Volkswagen Leasing GmbH: Armin Villinger succeeds Jens Legenbauer

Legenbauer to be responsible in future for European business with dealer partners

Braunschweig, 1 July 2022. There is a new head at the helm of Volkswagen Leasing GmbH: with effect from today, Armin Villinger has been appointed Chairman of the Management Board at Europe's largest automobile leasing company. He succeeds Jens Legenbauer, who, as part of the European realignment of Volkswagen Financial Services according to sales channels, will from now on be responsible for the European dealer channel in the capacity of Senior Vice President.

Armin Villinger studied business administration at the University of Regensburg and has worked within the Volkswagen Group for 31 years. He began his career in purchasing at Audi in Ingolstadt in 1989. After holding various positions in purchasing and product management, he took over the management of sales to public authorities in 2000. After 2004 his area of responsibility was extended to include sales to fleet and direct customers as well as used vehicle sales. In 2017 he moved to Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg, where he was responsible for Group Fleet International. Since 2019 he has been Head of Importer Control & Group Fleet and simultaneously Head of Group Fleet International at Volkswagen Financial Services AG in Braunschweig. In May 2020, he joined Volkswagen Leasing GmbH as General Representative and was in charge of sales for the German market. Villinger was born in Wangen (Allgäu) in southern Germany and is married.

Jens Legenbauer also gained a degree in business administration and began his career at Volkswagen AG. He moved to Volkswagen Financial Services AG in Braunschweig in 1995. Between 1997 and 1999, Legenbauer was Head of Controlling, Accounting, Treasury and Risk Management at Volkswagen Bank/Volkswagen Leasing in Poland. After serving in a number of different positions, he held several executive posts after 2005 within Volkswagen Leasing and subsequently VW FS AG, including Head of Contract Management and Head of Sales South/East. Legenbauer was born in Braunschweig, is married and has two daughters.

Anthony Bandmann, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Financial Services AG with responsibility for Sales and Marketing, said: "Jens Legenbauer has been the face of VW FS for our German dealer partners. As a result of the new European structure, we are now focusing even more strongly on individual sales channels and serving our customers from a single source, out of one organizational structure and across national boundaries. With Jens Legenbauer, a recognized expert is taking over the Dealer sales channel, and he is now doing so across all markets throughout Europe. And Armin Villinger, with his many years of experience and sales expertise to draw upon, will carry on the task of guiding the fortunes of Volkswagen Leasing. I wish them both every success in their new duties and responsibilities."

As of 1 July 2022, the Management Board of Volkswagen Leasing comprises Armin Villinger (Chairman), Hendrik Eggers and Frank Czarnetzki.
