We Promote Sustainable Mobility

Business

We are aligning our business with the principles of sustainability while actively supporting the transformation to
future-ready mobility.

Shaping our business with a future-oriented approach and promoting the shift to sustainable mobility is complex – and at the same time, a unique opportunity. As a sales promoter of the Volkswagen Group and a partner of its brands, we have the opportunity – and thus a decisive lever – to actively advance the sustainable transformation of mobility. Our ambition is to develop solutions that combine environmental responsibility with economic efficiency.

Our products connect people, help spare resources, and make processes simple and efficient. We create mobility concepts, develop fleet management solutions, and offer attractive financing and service options.

The Volkswagen Group is committed to consistently advancing sustainable mobility and is dedicated to the Paris climate goal. By 2030, the Group aims to electrify its entire model range. The future viability of environmentally friendly individual mobility crucially depends on the rapid market ramp-up of electric vehicles. Intelligent mobility solutions and financing concepts from Volkswagen Financial Services are an important building block in achieving this goal.

Our goals

Share of e-vehicles

One of the most important levers for achieving our climate ambitions is the transformation of our vehicle portfolio toward electrified drives. As an automotive service provider, we are already in the midst of this transformation, as the increasing availability of electric vehicles on the market provides the foundation for the systematic conversion of our portfolio. By strategically integrating these vehicles into our product offerings, we are actively driving this change to sustainable mobility forward.

By 2030, 70% of the e-vehicles produced by the Volkswagen Group brands in Europe are to be leased or financed through us. At the same time, we are continuously reducing the CO₂ intensity1 of our financed and leased portfolio – with clear target values of 103.7 g CO₂/km by 2030 , 20.2 g CO₂/km by 2040, and 0.7 g CO₂/km by 2050.

Refinancing

We are consistently aligning our refinancing activities with our sustainability ambitions, guided by the Green Finance Framework of Volkswagen Financial Services AG. This complements our current sustainability strategy and also enables access to a new, sustainably-focused investor base.

We are increasing the proportion of sustainable refinancing in the capital market: by 2030 the share of Green Bonds should reach 40% and by 2040 60%.

Our measures

Electrification of Vehicle Fleets

E-mobility is becoming increasingly important for companies. At the same time, the electrification of a fleet is a complex task that involves answering many questions – for example, regarding charging infrastructure and solutions, employee mobility behavior, or potential funding opportunities.

For this reason, we develop fleet concepts for our customers and support them intensively in building their e-fleet – in close cooperation with the brands of the Volkswagen Group.

Examples include our Fleet.Electrified program in Germany, the electrification campaign in the UK, or our Electrification-as-a-Service program for large, cross-country fleet customers.

Our offers share a common focus: we place particular emphasis on demonstrating the many advantages of e-mobility to our customers and supporting them with individual solutions in building a future-oriented and sustainable fleet.

Mobility without a car

Travel quickly, environmentally friendly, and conveniently with a company bike. In close cooperation with the Lease-a-Bike brand, Volkswagen Financial Services offers its customers the opportunity to expand their corporate mobility mix. Additionally, companies gain another way to increase their employer attractiveness to new applicants and provide their employees with an additional mobility service at attractive conditions. Both employers and employees benefit from this health-promoting additional service.
