Press Release

Auto-Abo car subscription from Volkswagen Financial Services launched across Germany

  • High cost transparency through monthly mobility rate
  • Customers given the greatest possible flexibility
  • Seven different vehicle classes bookable
Braunschweig, 21 September 2020. Volkswagen Financial Services are continuing to expand their mobility offering and are now providing a car subscription service at www.vwfs.de/autoabo. Customers can book different classes of vehicle and conclude a contract for the duration of three months. This contract can be cancelled afterwards on a monthly basis. Subscribers only pay for the use of the vehicle and for fuel. All relevant costs such as registration, general inspections and exhaust emission tests, maintenance, periodic servicing and wear-and-tear repairs as well as tire replacement, insurance and taxes are already covered in the monthly mobility rate. "For several years now, we have been experiencing a very dynamic development in the range of mobility offers available. Private customers increasingly want the highest possible degree of flexibility and comprehensive cost control. This trend has been further reinforced by the corona pandemic," says Jens Legenbauer, Chairman of the Management Board of Volkswagen Leasing GmbH and responsible for the German market of Volkswagen Financial Services. He adds: "In addition to leasing, financing and short- and long-term rentals, our customers now have another interesting alternative for their individual mobility with the Auto-Abo car subscription."

The VW FS | Auto Abo initially comprises the seven vehicle classes Micro, City, Compact, Compact Space, Family Space, Minibus and Country. The vehicles offered are brands of the Volkswagen Group. Customers can switch flexibly between the segments every three months depending on their needs. After they do so, a minimum holding period for the vehicle of three months begins again. The monthly rate is then automatically adjusted.

The vehicles in question are a maximum of six years old and in top condition. Customers who want a vehicle that is always as good as new and has a maximum age of 18 months can book this as an optional addition under the Forever Young Option. For an additional charge, customers can, for example, also choose their preferred type of transmission and fuel.

As well as everything covered by the full-service rate (registration, general inspections and exhaust emission tests, maintenance, periodic servicing, wear-and-tear repairs, tire replacement, insurance and taxes), the contract includes 800 free kilometers per month. An extended mileage package with a total monthly mileage of 1,250 kilometers is optionally available when concluding a contract or changing the vehicle class.

With a lead time of 14 days, customers either have their vehicle delivered to their home or they can collect it themselves at a selected pick-up station. The same applies to returns.

The VW FS | Auto Abo can only be booked by private customers. The booking can be carried out online at www.vwfs.de/autoabo.
