Quick help and fast service for flood victims

July 23, 2021

Volkswagen Financial Services are donating EUR 110,000 to help the flood victims in Belgium and Luxembourg. And customers affected in Germany can rest assured that any matters relating to their contracts that they need to resolve will be dealt with in an uncomplicated manner.

The shocking images of devastating water masses and houses simply washed away will remain in people's minds for a long time.  A lot of people have lost everything in the catastrophe. The only positive aspect that can be seen in this tragedy is the solidarity being shown and the incredible willingness to help one another.

What many people forget: Germany has not been the only country affected by the flood disaster. In Belgium and Luxembourg, too, the deluge has left trails of destruction in its wake. Belgium has been particularly hard hit. As far as we know at the moment, 32 people have lost their lives as a result of the torrential rain in our neighboring country. 18 are still missing. Around 10,000 people are currently unable to return to their homes and are therefore homeless. And in Luxembourg, numerous towns and villages have also been severely damaged by the deadly flooding. Hundreds of homes are without electricity. To also help the people in the flood-stricken regions of our neighboring countries, Volkswagen Financial Services, together with its joint venture partners Volkswagen D'Ieteren Finance and Volkswagen Losch Financial Services, are donating EUR 110,000 for the reconstruction effort. At the same time, the workforce at Volkswagen Financial Services is also pitching in and taking part in the Volkswagen Group's employee campaign to raise funds for the German Red Cross.
